Las Vegas Side Trips

tips for traveling to cuba

Many side trips are possible off the Strip, even if Vegas is new to you. Las Vegas is often associated with gambling and glitz and splendor. However, there are other things you can see and do in Sin City. Last week, we talked about some of the more underrated gems that lie just outside of the Strip.

Jeff German

In the last few years, German has expanded his work to podcasting. He created a series called "Mobbed Up, The Fight For Vegas" about fighting organized crime. It was produced by both the Review-Journal as well as the Mob Museum. The series covered the many shady characters that populated Las Vegas Valley in 1980s and 1970s.

His reporting exposed political corruption and three decades worth of organized crime in Las Vegas. He broke the story on the mass shooting in Las Vegas that killed more than 60 people and left hundreds more wounded in 2017. He also wrote a true crime book about the mob connections in the area. In 1998, he broke the story of Ted Binion's assassination. He was also a CNN analyst for the Binion story.
